Overview

Jhirna Zone is one of the most accessible and visitor-friendly zones in Jim Corbett National Park. Unique for being open to tourists throughout the year, Jhirna is a great choice for wildlife enthusiasts with limited time.

The zone is home to a wide variety of fauna, including sloth bears, elephants, sambar deer, wild boars, and occasional tigers. Its mix of dense forest and open scrubland offers good visibility for wildlife spotting and photography.

Located approximately 20 km from Ramnagar, Jhirna is ideal for half-day safari plans and is suitable for families, bird watchers, and those visiting during the off-season when other zones may be closed.

Tour Plan

The safari to Jhirna Zone starts from Ramnagar after completing necessary forest department formalities. Visitors board registered jeeps with a forest guide and proceed through the Dhela Gate.

The safari takes approximately 3–4 hours and covers dense sal forests, grasslands, and water streams. Both morning and evening slots are available, and the zone remains open year-round (subject to weather conditions).

After completing the safari route, visitors return to Ramnagar. It's recommended to book safaris in advance, especially during weekends and holidays.
